Teaching with Heart. Learning for Life.

Teacher, Writer, and Lifelong Learner

“What matters in life is not what happens to you but what you remember and how you remember it.” – Gabriel García Márquez

As a Jewish American woman with Russian heritage, I’ve spent years learning to embrace my full identity—without apologizing for it. I speak three languages, earned my MA in English Education from Columbia University, and have spent over 10 years tutoring students of all backgrounds.

I once dreamed of getting a PhD in literature and economics. But life had other plans—plans shaped by resilience, a few plot twists, and the realization that success is less about titles and more about impact.

I bring my whole self into the classroom: trilingual, trauma-informed, and deeply human. I teach English not just as a subject, but as a mirror—helping students explore who they are and how they relate to the world.

As a child, I found strength in Pippi Longstocking, a redhead who never apologized for being different. Now, I share my life with Lulu, my redheaded rescue pup and kindred spirit in courage, curiosity, and just the right amount of good trouble.

No more shrinking.

This is me—whole, grounded, and still learning.
